How to Get Involved in the Life of the Church

There are many ways to become involved in the life of First Presbyterian. Children, teens, college students, and women are provided with ways to be active members of the church.

Among the small groups that presently are active at First Presbyterian are a Tuesday Noon Bible Study based on the lectionary, Wednesday 5:30 Supper/Discussion for both single and married young professionals and families, Liturgical Arts, and Eco-Justice. New groups are welcome and fostered.

The primary governing body of the Presbyterian congregation is the Session. Elders are elected by the congregation to plan the life and work of the church. The Deacons of the church visit and offer assistance and comfort to congregational members. Communion and chancel preparation are also part of the many services they provide.
Former Pastor Seitz discusses his views on the importance of spirituality during times of great cultural shifts, and how this shapes the way church members get involved in the life of the church.
Former Pastor Craig Seitz talks about his views on the future of First Presbyterian Church.
